Companion to Mekanism. Wraps Mekanism's alloy progression into tool + armor sets. Osmium tools (a small upgrade over iron), then Bronze, Lapis, Steel, Refined Glowstone, and finally Refined Obsidian — the latter rivalling netherite. Same recipe shape as vanilla iron tools, just with the alloy ingot tier. Mekanism Tools — adds the metal tool/armor sets (Osmium, Bronze, Steel, Refined Glowstone, Refined Obsidian) for materials Mekanism introduces.
Getting started
Make a Heat Generator first if Mekanism Generators is installed, then craft a Metallurgic Infuser as the first progression machine. Mine Osmium Ore in the Overworld and gather iron, redstone, coal or charcoal, and a furnace; use the infuser to make Enriched Iron, Steel Dust, Steel Ingots, Infused Alloy, and Basic Control Circuits. Mekanism does not have a standalone in-game guide book; use JEI/EMI recipes and the official Getting Started wiki page.
What you can do
- Build 2x to 5x resource processing lines with Enrichment Chamber, Purification Chamber, Chemical Injection Chamber, Chemical Dissolution Chamber, Chemical Washer, and Chemical Crystallizer.
- Move FE, chemicals, fluids, items, and heat with Universal Cables, Pressurized Tubes, Mechanical Pipes, Logistical Transporters, and Thermodynamic Conductors.
- Upgrade machines with Speed Upgrade, Energy Upgrade, Muffling Upgrade, and Basic/Advanced/Elite/Ultimate Factory tiers.
- Automate mining with the Digital Miner, filters, Seismic Reader, and Seismic Vibrator.
- Store large item counts with QIO Drive Array, QIO Dashboard, QIO Importer, and QIO Exporter.
- Use powered gear such as Jetpack, Armored Jetpack, Atomic Disassembler, Meka-Tool, and MekaSuit.
Endgame goals
A top-tier setup usually combines a Fission Reactor, Industrial Turbine, Solar Neutron Activator, and Induction Matrix so Polonium production and FE storage stay stable. The late-game target is a Supercritical Phase Shifter (SPS) fed with Polonium and large power input to make Antimatter. A Fusion Reactor can replace or supplement fission/turbine power once D-T Fuel production is automated.
