Applied Energistics 2Endgame ME (Matter Energy) storage — digital item network with autocrafting

Version: 19.2.17 · MC 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.234 · Java 21

About

The definitive storage mod. Build an ME network from a Controller, Energy Cells, Drives (item storage), Buses, and Cables. Items go in as raw stacks → stored in Storage Cells (1k, 4k, 16k, 64k, 256k slots). Access through a Terminal anywhere on the network. Add a Crafting Storage + Pattern Provider → the network learns recipes and auto-crafts on request. With Channels (8 per cable; quartz fibre for sub-cables) you build sub-networks of arbitrary complexity. Applied Energistics 2 adds ME Networks for digital storage, logistics, and autocrafting. Its core blocks include the ME Drive, ME Terminal, ME Crafting Terminal, Energy Acceptor, Inscriber, Pattern Provider, Molecular Assembler, and ME Controller.

Getting started

Start by finding a meteorite, or craft a Meteorite Compass to locate the nearest Mysterious Cube. Mine Certus Quartz Clusters, Certus Quartz Blocks, and the Mysterious Cube for the four Inscriber Presses. Your first priority block after that is usually the Growth Accelerator; Fluix Crystals come from throwing Charged Certus Quartz, Redstone Dust, and Nether Quartz into water. Use the in-game AE2 guidebook / “Applied Energistics 2” guide if present.

What you can do

Endgame goals

A mature AE2 setup is a controller-backed ME Network with Dense Cable backbones, P2P tunnels, multiple ME Drives full of high-tier Storage Cells, and dedicated autocrafting clusters. Late-game automation centers on Crafting CPU multiblocks using Crafting Storage and Crafting Co-Processing Units, with Pattern Providers feeding machines and Molecular Assemblers.
