The AetherSky dimension — floating islands, blue clouds, Bronze Dungeon, Silver Dungeon, Gold Dungeon
About
Inverse of the Nether — floating islands in perpetual sunshine. Build a Glowstone Portal in the Overworld; activate with water bucket. The Aether has its own ores (Zanite, Gravitite, Continuum), mobs (Cockatrice, Aerwhale), and three tiered dungeons. Each dungeon is gated behind keys + special enemies; loot Bronze → Silver → Gold gear and accessories. Beautiful aesthetic, slower pace than Twilight Forest. The Aether adds a separate sky dimension reached through a Glowstone portal activated with a Water Bucket. It has its own progression through Skyroot, Holystone, Zanite, and Gravitite gear, plus utility blocks such as the Altar, Freezer, Incubator, and Sun Altar.
Getting started
Build an Aether Portal from Glowstone in a Nether-portal shape, then place water inside it with a Water Bucket. Glowstone comes from the Nether or pack-specific quest/shop rewards, and the bucket needs Iron Ingots plus a water source. The in-game guide item is The Book of Lore.
What you can do
- Mine Holystone, Ambrosium Ore, Zanite Ore, and Gravitite Ore for Aether-native tools and armor.
- Use the Altar, Freezer, and Incubator for Aether processing, freezing recipes, and Moa Egg hatching.
- Hatch and ride Moas; higher-tier Moas get more midair jumps.
- Use Aerclouds, Blue Aerclouds, and Quicksoil for movement across floating islands.
- Loot accessories and equip them in The Aether's accessory GUI.
- Clear Bronze, Silver, and Gold Dungeons, ending with Slider, Valkyrie Queen, and Sun Spirit fights.
Endgame goals
Late Aether progression is clearing the Gold Dungeon, defeating the Sun Spirit, and unlocking use of the Sun Altar to control the Aether day cycle. A strong setup has Gravitite tools and armor, a trained Moa, dungeon accessories, and a base stocked with an Altar, Freezer, and Incubator.
