MinecoloniesBuild a town — recruit citizens, assign jobs, automate everything via NPC workers
About
Town-management overhaul. Place a Town Hall block → start a colony. Use the Build Tool (from Structurize) to place buildings: Builder's Hut, Restaurant, Lumberjack's Hut, Miner's Shaft, Guard Tower, more. Each building auto-spawns + employs a citizen NPC who lives in the colony and works that job. Builders construct other buildings, lumberjacks chop trees, miners dig, restaurant cooks. Combine into a fully-functional autonomous town — gather resources without lifting a finger. Pair with Style Colonies for themed colony aesthetics. MineColonies adds NPC colony management: place a Town Hall, recruit citizens, assign jobs, and have Builders construct buildings from supplied materials. Core blocks/items include the Supply Camp, Supply Ship, Build Tool, Builder's Hut, Residence, Warehouse, Courier's Hut, University, Guard Tower, and Resource Scroll.
Getting started
Craft a Supply Camp or Supply Ship first; it places a starter structure containing a Town Hall block and Build Tool. The recipe uses Chests, Trapped Chests, and Ender Chests, so gather logs, iron, sticks, obsidian, Ender Pearls, and Blaze Powder from overworld resources, Endermen, Blazes, or loot. MineColonies has no separate in-game guidebook item; use JEI for recipes and the official Getting Started guide.
What you can do
- Found a colony with a Town Hall and place schematics using the Build Tool.
- Build a Builder's Hut so a Builder can construct and upgrade other buildings.
- Add worker buildings such as Forester's Hut, Mine, Farmer's Hut, Fisher's Hut, Sawmill, Smeltery, and Blacksmith's Hut.
- Manage colony storage and deliveries with Warehouse, Courier's Hut, Racks, Requests, and Resource Scroll.
- Grow population with Residences and a Tavern, then feed citizens through Dining Hall and Chef's Kitchen.
- Research upgrades in the University and defend raids with Guard Tower, Barracks, Barracks Tower, and Rallying Banner.
Endgame goals
A top-tier colony has level 5 core buildings: Town Hall, multiple Builder's Huts, Warehouse, Courier's Huts, University, and specialized production huts. The late setup keeps Requests supplied from Warehouse/Racks, runs deep University research, and handles raids with Barracks Towers, Guard Towers, and equipped Guards.
